NEW YORK – As a summer associate at Weil, I had the opportunity to begin working on active deals and cases right away. In addition to providing training and mentorship on the mechanics of particular assignments, the associates and partners I worked with provided a crash course on the overall strategy of the deals and cases I was assigned to and how they related to the work I was doing. One highlight of this summer included sitting in on a board meeting conference call with a partner, who afterwards discussed some of the ongoing legal tactics that came up during the call and answered questions I had about the deal.…
