A Southerner’s Summer in the City

Moving from a town of three thousand people to a city with almost eight and a half million residents is fairly daunting. Fortunately, Weil’s summer program has made the adjustment easy. The firm helped me secure housing for the summer and plan my travel to the city.

Weil’s summer program has events for every interest. Each week is filed with opportunities to socialize with members of the Firm’s practice groups and fellow summer associates at dinners, shows, concerts, and other events. Outside of the formal program structure, partners and associates at the firm are approachable and willing to share recommendations for their favorite restaurants and places to visit.

The best part of the program is the opportunity to do consequential legal work. Throughout my rotations I have been able to contribute to transactions and cases that are covered in the media. I have also been able to develop skills that will serve me in practice for years to come. I can think of no better experience to begin my legal career.
