This is New York!

One of the things that makes New York City a world-renown metropolis is its distinct intensity. Everything, from boarding a subway to negotiating in the boardroom is executed with a degree of gusto that can only be found in the Big Apple. Combine this remarkable intensity with Weil’s excitement for hosting their first in-person summer program in two years, and you start to get an idea of what the Summer Associates of 2022 walked into.

The events, both substantive and social, have exceeded the expectations set forth by my legal network. In just two weeks I have had the privilege to get coffee or lunch with thought leaders in different legal sectors, join mixers with first-year associates, and even attend a reception at the Plaza’s Oak Room to meet Weil’s partners. In between substantive work assignments, Weil has also gone out of their way to provide lunch seminars on how to navigate clerkships, improve legal research efficiency, and draft emails in a law firm setting.

All of these experiences are maximized because of the genuine humanity captured in the people that make up Weil. In every conversation there is the room for a life story or a laugh, and that’s what makes the workplace environment so enjoyable. With 8 weeks of my summer experience still on the horizon, I am excited to explore what else is out there at the firm and learning how I fit into its community.
