Pro Bono at Weil – Commitment to the Dallas Community
As a summer associate rotating through three practice groups within the Corporate Department, I wasn’t sure whether I would have much exposure to pro bono matters because of my preconception that most pro bono work was reserved for litigators. This preconception stems from my experience in law school where most pro bono clinics are oriented towards litigation matters. However, my experience in the Weil Dallas office has been completely contrary to my initial expectations.
During my first week in the Mergers 8Acquisitions practice group, I was immediately staffed on pro bono matters without even needing to ask, working with both the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and the International Refugee Assistance Project. My experience at Weil on these pro bono matters has shown me that a commitment to public service and being a citizen of the Dallas community are integral parts of Weil’s culture encompassing all practice groups at the Firm.
