Diversity at Weil
My summer experience at Weil can be summarized in one word: diverse. Diverse attorneys, diverse experiences and diverse personalities, Weil’s Summer Program offers something new each week. And good thing too – as someone somewhat unsure about what path to take, the Summer Program was structured perfectly for me to get a taste of the terrific practice groups that the firm has to offer.
I started in Litigation, spent two weeks in a pro bono externship, and will finish the summer in Business Finance & Restructuring. Though the type of work varies dramatically between each department, the common thread linking my entire experience at Weil is the consistent culture across the firm. Respectful and approachable, each Weil attorney I encountered doubled as a mentor and resource.
One week I am drafting a memo summarizing my research into a contract dispute between two major corporations, the next week I am in housing court working on landlord-tenant disputes on a pro bono externship. I am currently preparing slide decks summarizing a previous chapter 11 case Weil handled a few years ago. Through these wide-ranging assignments, I’ve learned that, at Weil, there is a practice group for everyone, and no matter where you go, there are attorneys ready to take you under their wing.
