Summer@Weil

One Firm, One Family

As I was driving to work this morning, a dreadful thought hit me all of sudden: I will only get to make this drive for six more days. The Summer Program will come to an end, and I will have to say goodbyes to everyone. Needless to say, it was a very reflective car drive. I thought about what made me so happy to come into work every day. What is it about Weil that gets me so excited on my way to work? I realized it is the people. I am not just talking about the attorneys. It is everyone in the office, from secretaries to paralegals, from IT personnel to recruiters.

From the first day of the Summer Program, I felt so welcomed, embraced and supported. Every person in the office has been willing to stop whatever they are doing to answer questions or offer to help, no matter how busy they are. They all truly want to create an environment where I can learn as much as possible and grow as a future attorney and individual. Many of my fond memories from this summer include recruiters and secretaries. I will miss my morning conversations with my secretary about cucumbers and gardening. I will miss dropping by my recruiter’s office randomly throughout the week to talk about anything and everything from practice group preference to business casual clothing selection. I came to Weil to learn about various areas of law, but I am leaving Weil with much more: lifelong friendships and another family.
