Weil is a standout firm because of the people who comprise it. From my initial screener interview to the callback, it almost felt too good to be true. The attorneys at Weil operate as a purposeful team with an unparalleled level of camaraderie. The firm gives summer associates the ability to rotate through their selected departments in order to determine which one is the right fit. Based on my conversations with fellow law classmates, not every summer associate is given this opportunity.

Summer associates gain many forms of mentorship and support during their onboarding. I can refer to my summer sibling, partner mentors and assignment coordinator for advice while simultaneously building relationships with attorneys across all practice areas. This type of open-door policy solidifies the leaders at Weil value collaboration, don’t operate in silos and are themselves approachable and inclusive.

As a lawyer, continuous education is important and Weil attorneys are never left short-handed. Most impressively, Weil attorneys have access to world-class, sophisticated resources. The formal mentorship, training and exposure to high-stakes matters ensures summer associates are given the appropriate tools to succeed. Additionally, Weil sets itself apart from other firms due to its performance-based work culture. If attorneys prove themselves capable of certain work, they will likely advance. For this reason, summer associates are encouraged to be proactive, engaged and inquisitive.

Ingrained in Weil’s diversified and dynamic work environment is the strong work ethic that accompanies its service-oriented attorneys. I truly feel inspired to work alongside some of the best legal minds in the industry on both client and pro bono matters. My time at Weil reaffirms this is the best career decision I’ve ever made. This experience has already made me a better future lawyer.
