Weil Gives Back

NEW YORK – From day one at the Firm, I have been consistently impressed with the level of engagement that Weil has with the greater New York community. Weil’s spirit of giving back to the community has not only been on full display during the summer but summer associates are invited to participate in the amazing array of activities with which the firm is involved.

Early on in the summer a group of Weil attorneys, staff, and summers participated in the AIDS Walk in Central Park. Not only was it a beautiful day for a walk in the park, but it also was really inspiring to see all of the volunteers cheering us on as we walked past each post. Afterwards, we all met for food and drinks, which provided a great way to meet people outside of the office and get to know them in a different light. So far the AIDS Walk has been my favorite event, and I look forward to walking again with Weil in the future.

Another program that I am really excited to be a part of is the mock interview program for PENCIL. Thirty summer associates will be paired with high school students to coach them on interviewing and professionalism. At the end of the session each student will get the chance to do a mock interview.
Looking beyond the stellar pro bono work, summers frequently get the opportunity to join partners and associates at charity functions, like the upcoming Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law annual dinner.
These events not only make the summers feel like a part of the Firm, but they demonstrate Weil’s commitment to ensuring that the Firm is a leader in the community. You get a sense that this is simply part of the culture here at Weil from day one
